Three more swimming world records have been broken at the Beijing Olympics, but a second case of doping was also revealed.
Germany's Britta Steffen won gold in the 100-metre freestyle for the team's first medal in swimming. US swimmers set three new records. Michael Phelps did so in winning the 200-metre individual medley, collecting his sixth gold medal. Compatriot Ryan Lochte won the men's 200-metre backstroke and teammate Rebecca Soni captured the women's 200-metre backstroke, both in world record times.
