Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic has made his first appearance before a judge at the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal at The Hague.
Judge Alphons Orie read out to Karadzic, the accusations of genocide over the siege of Sarajevo and the 1995 massacre of some 8,000 Muslims at Srebrenica. Karadzic, who appeared in a black suit, shaved and with a hair cut, said he would represent himself. He also said he would delay entering a plea to charges of crimes against humanity. Karadzic must enter his plea by the next hearing scheduled for August 28. The 63-year old was arrested in Belgrade last Karadzic arrives in the Hague ...
