Patchy relief ... At least 38 people have died when a motorized ferry sank in a river of Burma's cyclone-battered Irrawaddy delta.
A state-run newspaper reported Friday that the ship, with 82 people on board, went down in the Yway river on Tuesday after water entered its stern section. It did not say exactly how the accident occurred but added that the remaining 44 people were rescued. The delta was largely devastated in early May by Cyclone Nargis, which claimed more than 84,000 lives.
