The UNESCO World Heritage commission has decided to keep the eastern German city of Dresden on its list for now.
The group of experts, meeting in Canada's Quebec City said Dresden's status was under question because of construction of a traffic bridge over the 18th century heritage valley. UNESCO has said it will give Dresden a final chance to cease construction or the city will be de-listed. If the valley loses UNESCO support it would be the first site to be tripped of its world heritage status.
