In Sports: Germany has lost the European football Championship against Spain 0-1.
Spain's Fernando Torres scored the game's only goal in the 33rd minute earning his country their first major title in 44 years. Germany captain Michael Ballack showed no sign of the calf injury that plagued him before the final but despite a near goal in the second half couldn't lead his side to victory. Germany coach 48 year-old Joachim Loew missed out on becoming one of only three German coaches to win a European title. Loew will take Germany to the 2012 World Cup finals in South Africa.
