Abducted Frenchman in Afghanistan released ... European citizens including a German man, his French partner and their young son, from a yacht off Somalia's coast.
A local official said the family of three and the French pilot of the yacht were abducted early Monday as they sailed through the Gulf of Aden. The kidnappers then abandoned the yacht on the shore and took the hostages into a nearby mountainous area. An official said security forces were pursuing the pirates. Piracy is rife off Somalia, on the coast of the Horn of Africa. In April French troops rescued the crew of a French luxury yacht and captured some of the pirates involved.
