Eleven US diplomats have left Belarus after a row with the former Soviet state over human rights and sanctions, according to an embassy official in the capital Minsk.
The official said Belarus authorities declared 10 of the 11 diplomats persona non grata on Wednesday, and ordered them to leave the country within 72 hours. Washington has warned Belarus it may force Minsk to withdraw all its diplomats from the US in retaliation for the expulsions.
