Pakistan's new government has released a top militant leader with links to Afghanistan's ousted Taliban militia.
An official said Sufi Mohammad was set free after nearly seven years of detention under a peace agreement with tribal elders. His Movement for Implementation of Mohammad's Sharia Law sent thousands of fighters to Afghanistan to fight against the US-led offensive to topple the Taliban.
